PRINCE2® Practitioner

PRINCE2® Practitioner is the second level of PRINCE2 certification. To pass a PRINCE2 Practitioner exam, you must have a Foundation certificate first. Since the validity of the Practitioner certificate is limited to 5 years, you should renew it by passing standard exam or a shortened exam called re-certification.

Practitioner training does not cover any new theory, that is why you refresh your knowledge from your Foundation course. The Practitioner course is concentrated on teaching, how to apply the theoretical knowledge on the practical projects. Since the Practitioner exam is an open book, we will teach you how to use the manual, how and where to quickly find the information.

Do you find the Practitioner exam difficult?

From our observations, about 20% of errors you do are from one or more of the following reasons:

• the questions are not read carefully (or Case study) or the answers
• you can not find "key words", leading you to find the answer to quickly
• you did not understand "the logic" of some of the questions
• you do not know, how to use the manual

What is more important, is that, we will explain to you the logic about the exam and on how to pass the exam proficiently, which are the key-words you should concentrate on and on how to manage your time. We do not have 100% pass rate in Practitioner training, because there are students coming to us, which passed Foundation training by our competitors, might underestimate their self-study or did not pay adequate attention to our recommendations. 

PRINCE2 Practitioner exam format

The exam is base on case study.

8 (set of) questions from different topic - 10 question items per topis, each worth one mark

44 marks or more required to pass (out of a total of 80) - 55%

Two-and-a-half hours (150 minutes) duration, (additional 40 minutes for non native)

Open book exam (official PRINCE2 manual only).

Duration and arrangement

PRINCE2 Practitioner training is organized as 1,5 day classroom training, while first day is dedicated to the training and the second day (usually morning) the students take the exams. It is also allowed to take the exam electronically any time after the training.
